This vow having been made, the Bishop lays his hand upon the heads of those children and young persons, and (distress ing to aflirm) without any knowledge of their previous char acter - without any genuine mark of personal religion, thus addresses the heart-searching Jehovah concerning them Almighty and everlasting God, who hast vouchsafed to regenerate these thy servants by water and the Holy Ghost, and hast given unto them forgiveness of all their sins! Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book challenges the historical importance of confirmation in the English church and presents the case that it is not mentioned in Scripture. The author supports this theory by examining passages of scripture often cited in connection with confirmation, then argues they do not mention the practice. Additionally, the author points out the significant differences between the practice of confirmation as instituted by the Apostles and as it is practised by the English church. This book will be a valuable resource for those seeking a deeper understanding of the history of confirmation and its place within the Christian tradition.
