Excerpt from Visual Perception Processing in a Hierarchical Control System: Level I
The control system is composed of three parallel systems that cooperate to perform teler obot control (fig. The task decomposition system breaks down objectives into simpler subtasks to control physical devices. The world model supplies information and analyzes data using support modules. It also maintains an internal model of the state of the environ ment in the global data system. The sensory processing system monitors and analyzes sen sory information from multiple sources in order to recognize objects, detect events and filter and integrate information. The world model uses this information to maintain the system's best estimate of the past, current, and possible future states of the world.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the essential aspects of a computational Level 1 hierarchy for a robotic vision control system. It introduces the concept of a telerobotic control system and the importance of perception processes in the system. The author focuses on the visual perception branch of the control system and explains its architecture and functionality, providing insights into how sensory processing modules work, including image preprocessing, feature extraction, and optical flow. The reader gains an understanding of the algorithms used and the interfaces that enable communication and coordination between modules. The book's significance lies in its detailed examination of Level 1 processing, making it a valuable resource for researchers, practitioners, and anyone interested in the foundational concepts of robotic vision and telerobotic systems. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
