Excerpt from The Hydration of Normal Sodium Pyrophosphate, to Orthophosphate in Varying Concentrations, of Hydrogen Ion at Forty-Five Degrees, Centigrade
Thermostat: A Freas sensitive thermostat was used to maintain a constant temperature for the entire work of hydra tion and hydrogen ion concentration measurement. By it a constant temperature of 45° C. I 01 was secured.
Potentiometer: Measurements for the determination of the concentration of hydrogen ion were made with a Leeds and Northrup direct-reading potentiometer of low resistance.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This meticulously researched book explores the hydration of pyrophosphate - an essential ingredient of many biological processes - to orthophosphate in varying concentrations of hydrogen ions at 45° Centigrade. Although initially approached in 1909, the author, a specialist in the field, reinvestigates the reaction's kinetics using advanced techniques developed in the intervening years. The book also examines the effect of hydrogen ion concentration on the reaction rate, providing insights into the complex mechanisms underlying hydration processes. Through a comprehensive study of both theoretical and practical aspects, this book advances our understanding of a fundamental chemical reaction with implications for biology and chemistry alike. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
