Excerpt from Instructions for Mounting, Using and Caring for Disappearing Carriages L. F., Models of 1907 and 1907 MI for 14-Inch Guns Models of 1907 and 1907 MI and Model of 1910
The model of 1910 guns are mounted in model of 1907 MI carriages. Stops can be arranged to limit traversing to either or 110° on either side of the front of the battery, and the piece can be elevated from 5° depression to 15° elevation, stops being arranged to limit the depression to either horizontal, 2° 30' and 5° when the height of the parapet requires it.
The elevating system is so constructed that the gun is loaded in the depressed position, this depression being 1° for normal retraction. The principal differences between the model of 1907 and 1907 M1 carriages are those due to the use of a longer and heavier model of 1910 gun on the model of 1907 MI carriages.
Action OF carriage - Upon firing the piece, the gun levers are rotated and moved to the rear by the recoiling energy of the gun.
