This bulletin has been prepared to fill the needs of farmers and other persons and groups interested in the study and control of insects. It. Is also intended for use in meeting the numerous requests received from those who desire information on methods of collecting and pre serving insects. Furthermore, it should be helpful to agencies engaged in conducting insect surveys as a basis for pest control.
It will give needed guidance in the collection of different kinds of insects and m the preservation of such material m a manner that will permit definite identification. The instructions given me necessarily brief. Additional information may be obtained by writing to the Bureau of Entomology and Plant Quarantine, United Statesb Depart ment of Agriculture, Washington 25, D. C.
