Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book establishes a new state constitution, embodying the ideals of civil liberty and justice that would shape the United States. It begins by affirming certain inherent and essential rights, including the right to a fair trial, protection from unreasonable searches and seizures, the right to bear arms, and the freedom of speech and assembly. It then goes on to establish three distinct branches of government: the legislative, the executive, and the judicial. The legislative branch consists of a Senate and a House of Representatives, and the executive branch is headed by a Governor. The judicial branch is composed of a Supreme Judicial Court and such other inferior courts as the General Assembly may establish. The constitution also includes provisions for the election of state officials, the qualifications for holding office, and the amendment process. It concludes by affirming the validity of all debts and contracts entered into before its adoption and the continuation of all statutes, public and private, not repugnant to the constitution. This book is an important document in the history of the United States, as it provides a glimpse into the values and ideals that shaped the nation's founding.
