Heeren undertook the history of classical literature - a great desideratum, which no one had attempted to supply. But, unfortunately, he has only given an intro. Duction, carrying us down to the close of the fourteenth century, and a history of the fifteenth. These are so good, that we must much lament the want of the rest, especially as I am aware of nothing to fill up the vacuity. Eichhorn, however, is here of considerable use.
