A word formed by means of a prefix or a suffix is called a derivative word as, untrue, sunny.

A syllable added to the beginning of a word, to vary its meaning, is called 5 prefix; as, unkind, not kind.

A syllable added to the end of a word, to vary its meaning, is called a suffix; as, fearless, without fear.
