We have tried to apply the assertional approach [1, 11, 13, 14] to automating the debugging and correctness proof for the considered class of programs. In this approach an assertion about the program state (augmented by a number of auxiliary variables when necessary) must be supplied. From this assertion desired properties of the program are supposed to follow.
