In today's world, we are all managers - of our own productivity and probably that of others. Success at work depends not so much on what we already know but on how much, how quickly and how effectively we can learn. Learning can and should be something to be relished - a real source of joy, excitement and satisfaction. Learn for your Life gathers together the messages that are central to learning and empowerment for individuals, organizations and society in the 21st century.

About the Authors
Anna Rossetti, John Meed and Eddy Knasel are the three partners in Learners First, a consultancy which is at the leading edge of national developments in work-related learning and which has worked for a wide range of companies, government departments, agencies and universities.
Anna Rossetti Anna started work as a teacher of children with learning difficulties and soon became involved with the start of the adult literacy movement with the Workers Educational Association. She moved on to work as training manager, open learning writer and commissioning editor at the National Extension College in Cambridge. She believes passionately that most people do not achieve their full learning potential, that much formal education does not help them to do so and often serves to narrow their horizons. Anna lives in Bristol where she divides her time between looking after her two daughters, helping with the local Woodcraft folk group and working as a writer and researcher, while dreaming about snorkelling and scuba-driving over coral reefs.
John Meed John began his career with the Audio Visual Media Research Unit of the Open University before moving on to join the National Extension College in Cambridge, where he became Assistant Director for Education. John has been extensively involved in researching key educational issues and writing learning materials. He is the author of a number of management and education books including The Intelligent Manager, Becoming Competent, Implementing Flexible Learning, and How to Study Effectively. John has two children, and his interests include pop music, playing flamenco guitar, walking, reading, cinema and eating.
Eddy Knasel An occupational psychologist, Eddy studied at Bangor and Aston Universities before moving to Cambridge to join the National Institute for Careers Education and Counselling, where he first became involved in work-based learning. He published his first book, Your Work in Your Hands, in 1986, shortly after leaving the Institute and becoming one third of Learners First. More recently he collaborated with Steve Morris and Graham Willcocks in writing How to Lead a Winning Team (also available from Financial Times Prentice Hall). Eddy now lives in Bristol, within 30 seconds' walk of the county cricket ground. He has never played the flamenco guitar.
