The Armington dz Sims engine has overhung cylinder, governor of the same type as the Buckeye and Straight Line, a hollow double-ported piston valve, but tak ing steam at the middle and exhausting as the ends of the chest. One eccentric is set inside the other, and the governor causes their throws to coincide, producing maxi mum throw, or to separate, lessening the throw.
