Sinossi

Excerpt from The Seventh Book of Vergil's Aeneid: For the Use of Schools; With Translations and Vocabulary

In this practise I have found the seventh book of the Aeneid much the most difficult of the whole poem, and that first suggested to me the desirableness of writing out a translation for my own use; further reflection led me to think that by publishing it I might do a service to students and teachers of Vergil.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book is a detailed study of the ways in which Christianity shaped the lives, values, and culture of medieval Europeans. The author synthesizes the existing scholarship with their own research and draws on their knowledge of archaeology and history to offer a comprehensive account of how Christian beliefs and practices influenced the Middle Ages. Exploring themes such as the role of the Church in society, the development of Christian art and architecture, and the impact of Christianity on everyday life, the author demonstrates the extent to which Christianity was a central and defining factor in European history. The author concludes that Christianity was not merely one of many influences on medieval Europe, but rather the primary lens through which medieval Europeans understood the world around them. This book is a valuable contribution to the field of medieval studies, offering a fresh and nuanced perspective on the role of Christianity in shaping European history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
