La cryptorchidic, qui constitue l'état normal chez le plus grand nombre des animaux, sans gêner en rien leurs facultés génératrices, a pour effet, chez l'homme, de supprimer complétement l'aptitude à la reproduction. En effet, les individus dont les deux testicules, quoique restés sains, sont incomplètement descendus, offrent un Certain degré de ressemblance avec les eunuques par leur confon mation extérieure; ils sont de taille moyenne, blonds, glabres, peu vigoureux; ils ont la voix d'un timbre élevé, et paraissent plus jeunes que leur âge, cependant ils sont aptes au coït; mais leur sperme, privé d'animalcules, est impropre à la fécondation.
