Is even i111possihe to describe the lesser 111111'1'111e11ls in battle and skirmish, but our aim has been to those most interested, a narrative by which the move ments of the Battery may be traced in a general way. We hope that the sons and daughters, and the generations to c,ome of the fathers who fought in the ranks of the Fifth Indiana llz'1tter), ma) glean something of interest and value from this history not found elsewhere. It is there fme sent forth with hones of favorable consideration. We extend to our faithful and loved comrade and Lieutenant, Daniel ll.
