Man of great talents and no inferior eru: dition; 'but the love I have for the Author, both as a writer and an artifi, made me hazard this feeble expofition of his abili ties, in hopes of being of fervice to young fiudents who cannot read his works 1n the languages of the original publications, and with the defire of giving pleafure to others who for mere amulement may pe1ufe this Tranflation, which certainly will contain matter truly interefiing either to the Li~ terati, the Artifi, 01 the Amateur.
