The recent grammar of Mr. Sophicles is, in this, as in other rec spects, a valuable contribution to the cause of Greek phllolv ogy; and the author cherishes the hope that the time is not far distant when all the senseless 'jargon which has so long encumbered and disgraced our Grammars, in regard to the formation of the tenses, will be consigned to merited oblivion.
