Excerpt from Grammar and Dictionary of the Bobangi Language as Spoken Over a Part of the Upper Congo West Central Africa: Containing Biographical Sketches of Prominent and Representative Citizens, Also Biographies of the Presidents of the United States
The history of the tribe which is known by the name Bobangi has yet to be recovered from the memories of the older inhabitants and from the folk lore of the tribe. It is, however, especially difficult to ascertain dates with any accuracy, or to arrange events in chronological order, for no two people will tell what they know of any particular event or events in the same order.
