This book offers a detailed account of an expedition through the Malay States of Trengganu and Kelantan, which were, at the time of the author's journey, relatively unknown to the world. The author's primary objective was to map out and document the region's topography, while also gaining insights into the lives and customs of the local population. Through the author's vivid descriptions, readers will gain a deep understanding of the area's physical and human geography, including the vast forests, rivers, and the unique characteristics of the local people. The book also sheds light on the socio-political landscape of the region at the time of the expedition, providing a valuable historical record of a little-known corner of the Malay Peninsula, making it an essential read for scholars and those interested in the history and development of Southeast Asia.
