Chicago to Buffalo are 60 per cent of the rates from Chicago to New York. The rates from other C. F. A. Groups to Buffalo are based on the C. F. A. Scale.1 The rates from Chicago to Detroit and Port Huron are the rates for 250 miles in the C. F. A. Scale. However, the distance by the direct line from Chicago to Detroit is 285 miles, and Port Huron is still more distant. The rates from C. F. A. Points other than Chicago to Detroit and Port Huron are based roughly on the C. F. A. Scale but modified by competition.
