The owner of every stallion, jack, bull, ram, lie-goat or boar who keeps it for a profit and charges a price for the service thereof, shall have a lien, for the amount of the stipulated price thereof, on any mare, jennet, cow, ewe. She-goat or sow, to which such sire shall have been bred and also on the offspring born next after such service. The statute provides that this lien shall be paramount over all other liens, but it has been held to be subordinate to a prior recorded mortgage.
