A practical guide to the whole process of editorial writing, from conception to print. Students are invited to explore the processes of: reading and preparing source material; textual conventions (genre, format, audience, purpose); weaving a new text (including contextualisation of excerpts and editorial features); finding the right voice (registering levels of formality depending upon the target audience); shaping and structuring; and preparing a text for publication. The book also offers advice on what examiners are looking for and what mistakes to avoid. The book is part of the "Living Language" series, which is designed to meet needs in the teaching of A Level English Language and A Level English Language and Literature. The series seeks to provide information, ideas and background theory which can be easily accessed through enjoyable activities and investigations.
