Soft cover. Condizione: Near Fine. Don R. Smith (illustratore). 1st Edition. Spectacular, unread, near fine, marred only by tiny wear spots on corners, plus some very small, faint scrapes on the back cover. This is the paperback original first edition, Ballantine Books #24380 with "First Printing: February, 1975" and "Printed in the United States of America" on its copyright page. (Note: per the copyright page of the 1979 2nd printing, the Canadian version of the 1st printing was published a month after this US version.) Its binding is tight and square, with no reading creases in its spine or hinges. Covers are bright, unmarked, and otherwise unworn, with some normal light age toning on inside surfaces. Pages are unmarked and unworn, with no apparent age toning, and unfaded publisher's yellow stain around edges of the text block. As a bonus, I'm including the cover and updated Foreword stripped from a 1979 2nd printing, in which Robert Silverberg famously admits, "She fooled me beautifully, along with everyone else, and called into question the entire notion of what is 'masculine' or 'feminine' in fiction." As with all Space Age Book purchases, I will ship this book in a moisture proof zip-loc bag, padded in bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box to assure it reaches its proud new owner in the same condition as my description.
