The General Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1908 declared the claim of the Retired Minister to be inherent.

The Presbyterian Church in 1909 adopted Dr. A. T. Pier son's word and declared that the claim was foremost.

The National Convention of Laymen held in Indianapolis in 1913 called it the supreme claim of the Retired Veterans.
