Total spring sowings of all crops in.russia Up to June 1 totaled acres compared with sown to June 1, 1930, according to a cable on June 11 from Agricultural Attache Steere at Berlin. The area seeded to wheat on.juue 1 was acres compared with acres a year ago and the area seeded to barley and oats on June 1 this year totaled 4532195000 acres against acres seeded a year earlier to the same date. Individual peasant farms are an important part of the regions still sewing and report 60 per cent of their plan completed, While the plan for cellective farms was 85 per cent fulfilled, says Mr. Steers. The situation in Siberia is still reported unfavorable although it is somewhat better than last year when sowing was also late. The offi ial crop condition report for the second ten days of May indicated that winter cereals were developing normally with.conditions about equal to last year, although spotted in some places. Spring cereals in the southern section of european.bussia were devel oping about the same as last year with cordition reported equal to or above a year age. Same rain during the week ended June 10 was reported in.most of the Ukraine central fertile region. Nb information for the remainder of the ceuntry was given.
