Why, then, have we chosen to tell the story? Because we agreed, when this book was conceived, that there was need of an honest story about prostitution. All too often the problem of prostitution is either referred to in off-color stories or ignored altogether. It is our hope that this book may help bring the matter out in the Open where adult Americans with a concern for the moral and social welfare of the community can discuss it intelligently.
