This book has been written for the use of those who are employed or anticipate employment in technical indus tries, who desire mathematical preparation for technical courses, or who are taking industrial courses of study. It has been tried out in mimeographed form for seven years in both day and evening classes, which now enroll Upward of two hundred students. During this time the book has grown from a small volume containing mostly industrial problems with little descriptive and explanatory matter to a volume which provides a wealth of mathematical and technical material with thousands of examples and applied problems.
