The victim is Dawn Stonor, a local girl who became a stripper. Investigator Wexford investigates her murder and the potential involvement of the festival's headliner, rock star Zeno Vedast. This copy is near fine in blue cloth with black titles on the spine. Slightly bumped spine ends is the only issue. No other marks or damage. First US edition. Originally published in the UK in 1973 by Hutchinson. The boards have rubbing to the corners and the top and bottom of the spine but are otherwise unmarked. Browning and light spotting to the page edges. A few light marks to the front free endpaper but the pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. The jacket has some chipping to the corners, at the top and bottom of the spine and along the edges. The front panel has a one inch closed tear to the top right corner, there is a one inch closed tear at the bottom of the spine and the rear panel has four half-inch closed tears to the top edge.
