Colin Rose is director of the Theoretical Research Institute (Sydney). He holds a PhD from the University of Sydney. In 1998/9, he was a Visiting Scholar at Wolfram Research, the makers of Mathematica. His work has been presented at venues such as Oxford, London School of Economics, the Bank of England, and the NBER.

Murray D. Smith is a senior lecturer in the Discipline of Econometrics and Business Statistics at the University of Sydney. He holds a first-class Honours degree and a PhD from Monash University. In 1998-1999, he was awarded an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship at the University of Munich. He publishes in the fields of statistics,

econometrics, and computer algebra systems.
