Modula-2 is the latest in the line of high level languages which, with improvements in microprocessors and memory devices, can now be used in microcomputer applications. This language has been specifically designed with the features of enhancing software reliability, quality, portability, maintainability and cost control in mind. The subject is introduced through a self-teaching process, which explains the rules and structure of the language, showing why it is useful for microcomputer applications. Although software design is not taught directly in the text, language support design requirements are always shown. This book should be of interest to degree and diploma students taking a first course in Modula-2, in departments of electrical and electronic engineering and computer science; mechanical and chemical engineering.
