Sinossi

This major text continues to cover the mathematics required on the first year of a degree or diploma course in engineering. The programmed approach, which was established in the first two editions, is maintained in the new one, and the book provides the sound foundation from which the student can build a solid engineering understanding.
In the third edition, the content of the book has been modified to reflect the changes in syllabuses which students encounter before beginning their undergraduate studies. As a result, the first two chapters have been completely replaced by material which assumes little in the way of previous mathematical experience on the part of the reader. Elsewhere in the book, the important topics of Fourier series and Laplace transforms each have a new chapter and the well-regarded exercises have been augmented in many of the chapters.
For the student embarking on a programme of undergraduate study, Engineering Mathematics provides one of the essential tools for the professional engineer.
