Nous serions donc sans un seul renseigne ment qui pût corroborer les relations énumérant en termes si admiratifs les richesses d'art du palais des Grimaldi, si nous n'avions trouvé dans les séries si nombreuses des archives du Palais, restées jusqu'à présent sans ordre depuis les pillages révolutionnaires, la plupart des instruments relatifs à l'exécution des testa ments des Princes et aux partages de leurs successions. Ces instruments nous ont fourni un nombre important d'états et d'inventaires minutieusement établis.
