J'en ai du moins jugé ainsi, et mes premieres études dans cette direction remontent à 1829, mes premiers essais à 1838; époque où je fus chargé, sous l'autorité de mon père, de la surveillance générale de la Ménagerie, dont j'eus à mon tour la direction à partir de 1840.
