Synthesis, Properties, and Applications of 2D Materials addresses the fundamentals, synthesis, properties, and a range of applications of 2D materials. It is the first of three related volumes that examine the full scope of 2D materials, specifically covering the basic theory and chemistry of 2D materials (including both theoretical and experimental dimensions), various heterostructures based on 2D materials, the impact of surface modifications and defect engineering, and a comparative analysis of a spectrum of 2D materials to demonstrate their respective properties. To cover such a wide range of aspects, chapters have been contributed by well-established research groups focusing on 2D materials surface chemistry, 2D materials-based heterostructures, applications of 2D materials, and the most recent developments in the field. Not only does the book highlight the immense potential and possibilities of these exciting emerging materials, it also outlines the limitations and challenges ahead. The other two related volumes are Crystalline Metal Organic Frameworks as Emerging 2D Materials and Crystalline Covalent Organic Frameworks as Emerging 2D Materials.
