Stabilization conditions are presented as linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), facilitating easy resolution with available toolboxes like Matlab's LMI toolbox, or free software such as SEDUMI and YALMIP. The book investigates both state- and output-feedback controller structures. While most literature focuses on state-feedback control, the book acknowledges the limitations of accessing all system states and explores output-feedback control as an alternative. Both static and dynamic feedback controller types are studied, with dynamic feedback controllers offering improved transient response at the expense of increased complexity.

Zahra Sadat Aghayan received a PhD in Control Engineering in 2021, from the Shahrood University of Technology, Shahrood, Iran. Her current research interests are: Fractional Order Systems, Time Delay Systems, Robust Control, Linear Matrix Inequalities.

António M. Lopes received a PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2000, from the University of Porto, Portugal. His current research interests are: Automation, Robotics, Complex Systems, Fractional Order Systems, Modelling and Control.
