The purpose of the November 1993 symposium was to present recent advances in characterization and control of odor and volatile organic compound emissions in the atmosphere, and to contribute to the state of the art of measurement and sampling tools, impact prediction methods, and abatement techniques. The 50 contributions in this proceedings volume discuss the above-mentioned topics in connection with the global problems of climate, as well as all aspects relating to the workplace environment and official regulations. A sampling of topics: VOC emisssion from an urban sanitary landfill site; solvent recovery and waste gas purification with cryogenic processes; and catalytic incineration applied to organic coating lines. Hardcover. Condizione: Good. 1. Mark of ownership. Ex-libris op schutblad English This book collects the proceedings of an international symposium devoted to the latest developments in the characterization and control of odour and volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from industrial sources. Its main aim is to advance the state-of-the-art in measurement and sampling methods, impact prediction, emission characterization, and abatement technologies. Topics covered include regulatory and legislative frameworks; chemical and olfactory assessment of emissions; recuperative and destructive treatment technologies; substitution and reduction strategies; and case studies from various industries ? including waste treatment, solvent usage, landfill gas emissions and air-borne solvent recovery. The book thus offers a comprehensive overview of both fundamental science and practical control measures for odour and VOC emissions, relevant to environmental management, industrial hygiene and air-quality regulation.
