ODBC is a new Windows interface which will help programmers adapt to different systems by enabling them to develop software that runs a variety of different databases. This brand of portable object-oriented DBMS programming is fast becoming the norm in the business world. This study focuses exclusively on this increasingly popular trend in database programming. It surveys the multimedia aspects of database programming and provides profiles of the products that support ODBC. The accompanying CDROM contains sample programs in C++ and Visual BASIC 3.
