Eine Einführung in das Programmieren mit Java speziell für Studenten von IS, CIS und MIS nach dem Motto 'Erst lernt man das Gehen, dann das Laufen'. Zunächst lernt man, was ein objektorientiertes Programm ist, wie man Klassen strukturiert und wie man Anweisungen schreibt mit Hilfe von strukturierten Java Programmelementen. Das Buch geht hierbei von Kenntnissen in COBOL, Pascal, Modula-2, C, oder C++ aus. Es enthält als pädagogische Elemente klar definierte Lernziele, Zusammenfassungen und Übungsaufgaben. Die Kapitel 1-7 machen den Lernenden vertraut mit den Elementen eines umfassenden Java-Programms. In den Kapiteln 9-13 werden dann weiterführende Themen besprochen. Die Mehrzahl der angeführten Beispiele ist praxis- bzw. unternehmensorientiert. Darüber hinaus wird der Lehrstoff durch eine Dateisammlung unterstützt, die aus dem Internet (http://members.aol.com/blgryph/home.html) heruntergeladen werden kann. Es gibt 2 Arten von Dateien, einen Auszug aus dem Quellcode für alle im Buch enthaltenen Beispiele und Dateien, die man zum Lösen der Programmierungsaufgaben benötigt. (01/98)
