About the author IAN ASHDOWN, PEng, is a professional software engineer and lighting technology researcher. He is President of byHeart Software Limited and Research and Development Manager for Ledalite Architectural Products Inc., and has written numerous articles for The C User's Journal, PC Techniques, Dr. Dobb's Journal, Embedded Systems Programming, and other computer magazines. He is also the author of five academic papers on lighting and computer graphics techniques.
