Hands-On Exposure to Digital Filter Design in a Computer Environment This hands-on guide provides the DSP newcomer with the experience of working with complex design formulas and design algorithms without having to write and debug large programs. It focuses on the practical application of the fundamental DSP concepts of digital filters, digital filter design, and filter implementation. Each chapter begins with a brief summary of the basics, followed by a set of illustrative exercises that provide a mix of theoretical, experimental, and design problems. The final chapter is a collection of projects that use the concepts and techniques discussed throughout the text to solve specific problems. Included with this book is a disk with stand-alone programs that perform elementary signal processing functions. The software is easy to use with an on-line help function that explains the usage of all DSP functions. This allows the reader to concentrate on DSP principles instead of details related to software usage. This book is a title in The Georgia Tech Digital Signal Processing Laboratory Series.
