Robinne Weiss grew up exploring the woods and fields of rural Pennsylvania, and has been known as The Bug Lady since she was seven years old. After two years in the Peace Corps, living with an astonishing array of arthropods in a mud house in Panama, she made her nickname official with a Masters degree in Entomology. She has spent over 25 years teaching children the real-life stories of insects. A Glint of Exoskeleton is her first foray into entomological fiction. Though Robinne has never actually spoken to an insect, many hours watching them in nature have taught her much about their lives. She now lives in New Zealand with her husband, two children, an evil cat, four dairy goats, five chickens, and a whole lot of bugs.
