En Quiché hay sonidos peculiares que exigen ciertos signos ó letras convencionales. En esto cada autor se ha regido por su propio criterio; pero hay dos sonidos, que los escritores antiguos representaban con el 9 (llamado tresillo) y con el 4h (cuatrillo aspirado), que ocurren con alguna frecuencia, y como no nos gustan los jeroglíficos, daremos una ligera explicacion de nuestro método.
