In this inquiry, numerous experiments were made on rats. The ani mals employed were common brown rats (mus decumanus Lin.) caught in stables. They were from twelve to sixteen ounces in weight. The inquiry was conducted in the same manner as in the case of rabbits, and the general results were found to be the same.
