This book contains 55 different floral designs that are more than just lovely designs. They are printed with transfer ink on special paper and can be transferred by heat directly onto fabric for crewel and other kinds of embroidery. Unlike most commercial transfer patterns, which can rarely be used more than once, these patterns will reproduce clearly many times. Complete transfer instructions are included.
Among the handsome designs are large flowers and small flowers, with many that are realistic poppies, carnations, lilies, pansies, tulips, daffodils, roses, fuchsias, sunflower, orchid, iris, etc. and some that are stylized, plus florals that are not flowers (strawberry, holly) and even sprays and bunches of different flowers. Most of the patterns are original late 19th-century transfer patterns.
These floral designs can be used for crewel and embroidery for decorating pillows, wall hangings, tablecloths, upholstery, and almost anything else you can think of which uses fabric. Because these designs have been brought together in one collection, you save money too: to accumulate comparable transfer patterns from stores or other sources would cost you at least 15 times the price of this book.
