Riassunto

Lyric scenes of exquisite beauty and a mastery of line and composition have characterized Japanese art for thousands of years. This treasury of more than 450 lovely designs preserves the original spirit and subtlety of Japanese art while sharpening and enhancing the reproducibility of the designs themselves. It features depictions of people in traditional garb; a generous sampling of natural motifs, including plants, animals, butterflies, and birds; decorative family crests, mostly arranged in circular configurations; bold geometric designs; fruit tree blossoms; demons; dragons; and much more.
Included in the set are a CD-ROM containing 454 high-quality, permission-free images scanned at 600 dpi and saved in six different formats (TIFF, PICT, EPS, BMP, as well as Internet-ready JPEG and GIF) and a large-format 48-page book with every image on the CD-ROM printed large and clearly for easy reference. Also included on the CD-ROM is Dover Design Manager, a simple graphics editing program for Windows.
Artists, designers, craftworkers, students, and teachers will find this CD-ROM and book collection of traditional Japanese motifs an indispensable source of permission-free illustrations and design inspiration.
