Particular attention is given to changing approaches to nature, medicine, chemical philosophy, and the relationship between traditional learning and emerging methods of scientific inquiry. Debus was a major twentieth-century historian of Renaissance and early modern science, particularly noted for his scholarship on the interaction of science, medicine, alchemy, and intellectual culture. 172 pages. Includes bibliography and index. Condition: Good in Good dust jacket. Hardcover in original pictorial dust jacket. Jacket shows rubbing and general shelf wear, with edge creasing, small chips and tears, and more pronounced chipping and loss around the head of the spine. Smaller wear is present at corners and lower extremities. Rear jacket panel shows age-toning and surface wear. Interior pages appear clean and well preserved with light age-toning.
