This approach to teaching computational mathematics is based on a fusion of mathematical analysis, numerical computation and applications. It is designed to be used within a calculus stream of an applied mathematics or engineering curriculum, enabling analytic, computational and modelling methods to be taught hand in hand. By involving computation explicitly, the authors manage to tackle advanced problems with considerably fewer prerequisites than usual.
