Isaac Levi is one of the preeminent philosophers in the areas of pragmatic rationality and epistemology. For Levi, to assume a belief is akin to incurring an obligation to fulfil a commitment (hence the religious connotation in the title, with the use of the word 'covenant'). In this original and influential collection of essays, a wide range of topics is covered, including consequentialism and sequential choice, consensus, voluntarism of belief, and tolerance.
