Sinossi

This precept upon precept method of instruction begins with very basic sentences. The simplicity of the sentences helps the students learn the way sentences usually work before being confused by variations in sentence patterns. This is accomplished through the use of sequential study sheets which are accompanied by corresponding work sheets. The study sheets begin with short sentences which illustrate the four basic sentence patterns. After the students have mastered the four basic patterns, another element is added. The addition of more complex elements continues step by step until the students master the variations in sentence patterns, tense, form, voice, prepositions, pronoun cases, verbals, and compound and complex sentences. Diagramming shows sentence parts, but it is not a tool that has to be used. When students learn the skills presented in this book, understanding usage, punctuation, and effective composition becomes much easier for them. Many of my former students and their high school teachers have told me how helpful and effective this method is.
