These two novellas and six short stories portray the lives people live and the lives they hide; the people they love and the lies they tell. Dan Dougherty loves his wife, Maureen — but he also has a lover. Dan’s lies tragically damage his marriage and family, but so do Maureen’s private motives. Lost and Found recounts Dan and Maureen’s psychological torment and the profound impact it has on the family decades later. World War II affected everyone on the home front — young children, their parents, entire communities. Turning Point takes place during the month of June 1944 in a small New Jersey town. It is there that Millie and her husband, George, wage their own unspoken, desperate battle. The two novellas are followed by six short stories that deal with deception, dementia, therapy, rage, love, loss — even aliens. One character searches for a father, another for a daughter; one tries to manipulate a lover, another strives to disengage. Although the ages and backgrounds of the characters vary, all have their own private motivations.
