Andy Hamilton travels the length of Britain in a quest to uncover new and unusual beers and to find that elusive perfect pint.

Andy Hamilton lives with his family on top of a hill that overlooks Bristol. He runs brewing workshops at his local home-brew shop and the occasional tasting session, too. He is also a member of the British Guild of Beer Writers and CAMRA. He grows ingredients for beer in his vertical hilltop garden and forages for ingredients for various alcoholic drinks in and around the parks and waste grounds of Bristol.
Andy is often called upon to contribute to various TV and radio shows on subjects from survival and foraging to home-brewing and gardening. Highlights include telling Radio 2’s Simon Mayo how to make the perfect elderflower champagne and nearly taking the Autumnwatch cast’s teeth out with his toffee apples.
He is the author of the award-winning and bestselling foraging/home-brewing book Booze for Free, which has made him the biggest-selling home-brew author in the UK for 2011–2012. He regularly blogs about home-brewing, beer, foraging and gardening on his website, www.theotherandyhamilton.com.
When not tasting new and wonderful beers in pubs and at festivals around the country, Andy works as a trustee for Homestart Bristol, a charity that offers support for struggling families in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
With over 200 new breweries opening in the UK every single year, why not swap ‘a pint of the usual’ for something more unusual? Andy Hamilton has tried hundreds, if not thousands, of pints from the avalanche of new flavours now available - to make sure that you need not miss out on the perfect porter, an irresistible IPA, a super stout or that marvellous mild.
